#BeActiveBeInvolved - Major Project Updates
Auchterarder Community Sports & Recreation (ACSR) is thrilled to share some major updates – all of which will enable ACSR continue our #BeActiveBeInvolved development project, which has the ultimate aim of making Auchterarder the most active small town in Scotland!
Following very productive discussions with The National Lottery Community Fund, we are delighted to reveal that we have been awarded £136,127 through the Community Action programme. The award, which runs from 1st April 2026 – 31st March 2029, extends the long-term relationship between ACSR and The National Lottery Community Fund and will enable the further development of ACSR and our activities, events, facilities and programmes all of which have the goal of improving the lives of people within Auchterarder.
We are also thrilled to reveal that we have secured further funding for our #BeActiveBeInvolved project, from another funder who has been very supportive of ACSR’s recent projects. We thank The Gannochy Trust for their award of £30,000 which runs from 1st April 2026 – 31st March 2029 too.
These funding awards link directly to another major update – we are pleased to share the news that our Development Manager, Tim Hart, has agreed to remain in post for another three years. Tim will continue to provide great continuity to ACSR, ACSR’s #BeActiveBeInvolved project – and he will continue to support our growing network of dedicated volunteers within our Board of Trustees and our three Working Groups: Core Paths, Green Spaces and Sport & Recreation.
Ian Somerville, Chair of Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation said: “This is fantastic news and we are so grateful for the awards. During the past five years, we have seen the benefits of having a full time Development Manager in helping to guide and support the respective Working Groups and Trustees that make up ACSR. The series of improvements to Auchterarder Public Park, highlighted by our fantastic new Mountain Bike Trail and world-class Pump Track, is an example of the big type of community projects we have been able to develop and deliver during five years of Lottery funding to date. We are now able to continue significant planning to develop other projects and facilities, which will bring enjoyment and benefit to all who use them. Improving the community for the benefit of those living locally is something we can only do thanks to the support from The Gannochy Trust and The National Lottery.”
Gemma Simpson, Sport Development Officer for Auchterarder said: “I’m thrilled for ACSR that the National Lottery have agreed to extend funding for another three years. Having financial security in the form of Lottery Funding is very welcome and helps ACSR to design and deliver ambitious projects, which advance public participation in sport and recreation. We are very grateful to Lottery players across the country for helping to fund the community work we are proud to do. I am also extremely excited by the additional funding award ACSR has received from The Gannochy Trust – and I look forward to seeing the impact this has on ACSR’s projects.”
