ACSR Trishaw Project
Cycling WIthout AGE Scotland (CWAS) - Auchterarder CHapter
Since June 2024, the trishaw has become an important feature within Auchterarder - providing a crucial opportunity for vulnerable and isolated people to get out and about within the local community, at no cost.
All trishaw ‘pilots’ (drivers) and outriders (supporting cyclist on a bicycle) are fully trained
All pilots and outriders create a welcoming and friendly environment for their passengers
All rides take place in and around Auchterarder, on fully approved and risk assessed routes
One of our project funders was the ScottishPower Renewables’ community benefit contribution - and we were delighted to feature in their 2025 end of year report (on page 17), published in March 2026.
Does this inspire you to get involved as a volunteer? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you - and we encourage you to reach out to our project lead, Gordon McLeay.
Project History & The Link to Cycling Without Age Scotland (CWAS)
A key partner in the Auchterarder project is Cycling Without Age Scotland - a charity with a fascinating history, linking Denmark to Falkirk!
