SINCE 2012, AUCHTERARDER COMMUNITY SPORTS AND RECREATION HAS…

  • Upgraded the Primrose Park football pitch

  • Upgraded the Jonny Mathews Walk

  • Upgraded the Provost Walk, in three phases

  • Achieved Charitable Status

  • Upgraded the Mountain Bike Trail

  • Purchased two community e-bikes and 3 hybrids bikes

  • Refurbished the Community Football Pavilion

  • Supported the inception of The Sports Hub

  • Secured funding from Scottish Government ‘Community Climate Asset Fund’ to upgrade the pavilion windows

  • Secured funding from National Lottery ‘Community Fund’ to appoint a Development Manager

  • Hosted ‘Summer Sessions’ - a summer holiday, 6-activity, free participation programme in 2021 & 2022

  • Secured funding to upgrade the Children’s Play Park in Auchterarder Public Park

  • Secured funding to install a BMX Pump Track and a Mountain Bike Trail in Auchterarder Public Park

  • Provided advice to Kinross Community Council about installing a Pump Track, 2022-2023

  • Helped to facilitate the production of the Auchterarder and Aberuthven Community Action Plan 2022-2027 - and secured funding to extent the ‘Community Connector’ post through 2023.

  • Provided assistance to the Rotary Club of Auchterarder & District, to support the annual ‘Young Sportsperson of the Year’ awards and their major annual fundraiser, the ‘AMAM’ golf day.

  • Installed a new handrail on the ‘Black Road’ following a request from a local resident

  • Secured funding to install Wi-Fi and a live-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the Pavilion

  • Secured funding to deliver the ‘ACSR Bike Fun Day’ in October 2022

  • Supported Rotary Club of Auchterarder & District with their charity Am-Am golf day, 2022-2024

  • Delivered a series of events (Auchterarder Sporting Heritage Showcase, ‘Cosy Spaces’, ‘#ThursdayThoughts’) to bring the community together in a warm and welcoming place, with themed conversations

  • Hosted community ‘Sport & Recreation' Forums’

  • Organised free ‘Community Defibrillator Training’ workshops

  • Worked in partnership with the Community School of Auchterarder to deliver paths tidies in the areas next to the school estate

  • Obtained funding to upgrade the ‘Mill Lade Path’, completed in May 2023

  • Opened the new Children’s Play Park (Auchterarder Public Park) in June 2023

  • Hosted ‘ACSR Family Picnic in the Park’, in June 2023

  • Engaged with a corporate partner to create a new ‘Pocket Forest’ in Auchterarder Public Park, August 2023

  • Delivered the ‘ACSR Bike Extravaganza’, in October 2023

  • Designed and delivered an exciting ‘Rackets’ Programme (Pickleball, Short Tennis, Tennis), starting late 2023

  • Supported the creation of a new local cycling hub, during late 2023

  • Supported the creation of a new Pickleball Club, during late 2023

  • Secured funding to extend the post of Development Manager from January 2024 - April 2026

  • Launched ACSR Cycle Hub, March ‘24

  • Organised a disability inclusion workshop, in partnership with Perth and Kinross Disability Sport, March ‘24

  • Recruited an ‘ACSR Charity Assistant’, April 2024

  • Delivered a Junior Easter Tennis Camp (April ‘24), Summer Camp (July ‘24) and October Camp (October ‘24)

  • Assisted The Community School of Auchterarder with sourcing sponsorship for their rugby teams, April ‘24

  • Facilitated the opening of the Pavilion to provide bathroom access at weekends, April-October ‘24

  • Supported Rotary Club of Auchterarder & District with the Sandy Gunn Memorial Garden projected, formally opened in September ‘24

  • Launched the Cycling Without Age Scotland (CWAS) Auchterarder Chapter (trishaw project), September ‘24

  • Assisted Auchterarder in achieving ‘Biodiversity Town’ status, November ‘24

  • Launched the ACSR Newsletter to get our stakeholders and members updated, December ‘24

  • Nominated as a finalist in the ‘Sport of Change Award’ (for the work of ACSR Cycle Hub) at the Perth & Kinross Sports Awards 2024, March ‘25

  • Hosted a Volunteer Celebration Evening to thank all our vital volunteers, March ‘25

  • Opened the new Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track in Auchterarder Public Park, March ‘25

  • Provided advice to community groups in Alyth & Pitlochry as they investigate cycling facilities, March ‘25

  • Provided advice to Largo Communities Together about path development projects, April ‘25

  • Launched ‘What’s On in Auchterarder’ - a guide to sport & recreation activities, May ‘25

  • Held a community event to celebrate the new Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track, June ‘25

  • Won an International recognition award - being named as Acquisition International: ‘Best Community-Led Recreation & Inclusion NPO 2025 - Scotland’, July ‘25

  • Hosted a Community Views’ session, with associated survey, to gather ideas from the community on what activities and projects should be focussed on ‘next’, September ‘25
