Ian Somerville is 'Volunteer of the Year'

ACSR is thrilled to share the exciting news that our Chairperson, Ian Somerville, was an award winner at a major local awards ceremony.

The 2025 Perth and Kinross Sports Awards ceremony took place on Friday 6th March 2026 at Perth Art Gallery. In a very competitive category, with some outstanding nominees, Ian was named as ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for 2025.

Ian has been a calm influence on, and key driving force behind, ACSR’s recent developments. Our headline achievement of installing the free-to-use Mountain Bike Trail and Pump Track in Auchterarder Public Park would simply not have been deliverable without Ian’s knowledge, guidance, clear leadership and significant patience. As well as this, those within the community will regularly see Ian piloting the trishaw - and Ian can often be found with a Core Paths strimmer in hand, too!

Everyone at ACSR congratulates Ian on his award - and we thank Ian for everyone he continues to do to #BeActiveBeInvolved, as we work towards making Auchterarder the most active small town in Scotland.
